Smart Speedometer for Motorcycle

This smart speedometer for motorcycles features a 5-inch display with a brightness of 1000 cd/m², ensuring clear visibility even under direct sunlight. It performs well inside a digger cab on a hot summer afternoon.

We tested the speedometer in a -30°C freezer for 48 hours, and it powered on immediately afterward. We also placed it in an 85°C oven for 72 hours, and it showed no issues. Customers from both cold northern regions and hot southern areas received samples, and none of them reported temperature-related failures.

The back of this smart speedometer features a CAN port and multiple GPIO pins for easy connection to the vehicle's CAN bus. This allows you to read speed, water temperature, and oil pressure. Additionally, you can use it to control lights or sensors.

One customer, who was modifying refrigerated trucks, used the GPIO pins to add a temperature alarm. When the refrigeration unit got too hot, the screen displayed a red warning. He wrote the code himself, and we provided him with the interface guide and technical support.

This device is equipped with a 32-bit processor running at 600 MHz and has 32Mx16 DDR2 SDRAM. The display runs smoothly without lag. We did not use Android, as dashboards require stability. Our system has been running non-stop for 30,000 hours without issues.

The LED backlight also has a lifespan of 30,000 hours, which is equivalent to driving 8 hours a day for 10 years. The standby current is under 2 mA, meaning it uses almost no power when the engine is off. Large trucks and buses often remain parked for days, but this screen will not drain the battery.
