Maintenance of plastic gears mainly involves lubrication and preventing deterioration. Here are specific maintenance recommendations:

Using Industrial Grease:

Preferred: For plastic gears, industrial grease is the ideal choice, especially when the gears are designed to operate at low temperatures. General-purpose calcium-based grease is an economical and practical option.

Alternative Lubricants:

Vegetable and Animal Oils: In the absence of industrial grease, vegetable or animal oils can be considered for lubrication. These oils may provide excellent lubrication in certain situations, but it's important to note that they are prone to deterioration and therefore require regular inspection and replacement.

Lubrication Cycle and Inspection:

Regular Lubrication: Establish a suitable lubrication cycle based on the gear's usage frequency and working environment. Ensure the gears are always well lubricated to reduce wear and noise.

Check for Deterioration: For gears lubricated with vegetable or animal oils, the condition of the lubricating grease needs to be checked regularly. If any signs of deterioration are found, it should be replaced immediately.

Avoid High Temperatures:

Plastic gears are sensitive to high temperatures, so exposure to high-temperature environments should be avoided as much as possible. High temperatures can cause the plastic material to soften and deform, thus affecting the gear's precision and lifespan.

Cleaning and Maintenance:

Before lubrication, ensure the gear surfaces are clean and free of impurities. This helps reduce wear and improve lubrication.

Regularly inspect the gears for wear and replace severely worn gears promptly to ensure the proper functioning of the entire transmission system.
