The industry standard system for automotive electronic systems is vast and multi-layered, covering international, national, industry, and enterprise levels.
The reliability, safety, and market access of automotive electronic products must comply with a series of international, regional, and national standards and certifications. Internationally, the AEC-Q series (such as AEC-Q100) is the authoritative standard for reliability testing of automotive electronic components and a key requirement for entering the global supply chain. In the European market, according to ECE regulations, automotive electronic products must pass E-mark certification (based on ECE R10 and other regulations) to prove their electromagnetic compatibility and other requirements; this is a mandatory requirement for entering the European market.
ISO 26262: Functional safety standard for road vehicles, covering the entire lifecycle of electronic/electrical systems, classified by ASIL A–D risk levels. The equivalent in China is GB/T 34590.
ISO 16750: Electrical environmental conditions and testing for road vehicles, defining environmental stress requirements such as temperature, vibration, and power supply anomalies. The corresponding standard in China is GB/T 28046.
ISO 7637 / ISO 7637-2: Testing for conducted and coupled electrical disturbances, specifying transient immunity (such as load dumping, cold start, etc.). The corresponding standard in China is GB/T 21437.
In China, the GB/T series of national standards must be followed, such as GB/T 40856-2021 "Safety Requirements for Vehicle Gateways" and GB/T 39397 "Performance Requirements for Vehicle-Mounted Beidou Satellite Positioning Terminals," etc. Furthermore, in April 2025, the national standard "Onboard Emergency Call System" (AECS) was officially released, stipulating that from July 2027, all newly manufactured vehicles must be equipped with an emergency call system that meets the standard.
