Product Overview
The Car Ignition Lock Plastic Housing is the structural body that locates the key cylinder and lock core in a conventional vehicle ignition-lock system. It supports repeated key insertion, removal, and rotation while maintaining the alignment of the lock mechanism and surrounding mounting features.
Core Advantages
PA66 with 50% Glass Fiber
The housing uses PA66+GF50 for high stiffness around the key-cylinder and lock-core supports. The reinforced body limits local flexing under repeated insertion and rotational loading, helping maintain lock alignment and avoid cracks around the mounting structure.
Specified for Long-Term Key Cycling
The housing is specified for at least 50,000 key insertion cycles without cracks. The reinforced body keeps the cylinder seat, guide surfaces, and mounting points positioned under repeated mechanical contact.
Heat Stability in the Steering-Column Area
The existing specification gives a heat-deflection temperature of at least 250°C at 1.82 MPa and also addresses cabin temperatures of 70-80°C. The high glass-fiber content keeps the cylinder and lock-core interfaces stable under heat and mechanical load.

Customization Capabilities
Cylinder and Lock-Core Interface
The project can specify the cylinder seat, lock-core location, rotation clearance, anti-rotation details, mounting points, connector or switch clearance, and surrounding steering-column geometry.
Structural Geometry
Wall thickness, ribs, bosses, local reinforcement, gate location, ejector arrangement, and glass-fiber flow direction may be adjusted to control filling, shrinkage, and dimensional stability.
Surface Option
Vacuum coating is available for specified visible or wear-contact areas. Coating coverage, masking zones, color, and surface appearance are defined against the reference sample.
Quality Control
CMM Dimensional Inspection
Critical cylinder, lock-core, and mounting dimensions are measured by CMM against the required datums. First-piece results establish the production reference before continuous molding.
High-Glass-Fiber Process Control
Material drying, filling, pressure, mold temperature, and glass-fiber orientation are controlled because PA66+GF50 has limited flow compared with unfilled resin. Patrol inspection monitors short shots, warpage, exposed fiber, and flash.
Fit and Repeated-Use Verification
The molded housing is checked with the mating cylinder or fixture for insertion, rotation clearance, seating, and retention. Validation includes at least 50,000 key insertion cycles without cracks, followed by post-test fit and dimensional review.
FAQ
Q1: How is the product packed for export?
A1: Cylinder interfaces, clips, and vacuum-coated surfaces are separated or protected according to the housing geometry and finish.
Q2: Which shipping terms are available?
A2: EXW and FOB terms are available.
Q3: Is the lock cylinder or lock core included with the plastic housing?
A3: Standard supply is the plastic housing. A cylinder, lock core, retainer, or related hardware is included only when it appears in the confirmed supply scope.
Q4: Can metal retainers or inserts be assembled before delivery?
A4: Yes. Customer-specified retainers or inserts may be included after their dimensions, surface condition, seating method, and inspection requirements are confirmed.
